For you soccer lovers, the week leading up to opening day of Orlando City SC’s inaugural MLS game will be packed with a plethora of things to do around the City Beautiful.

Orlando City opens their MLS season when they welcome New York City FC on Sunday, March 8 at the renovated Orlando Citrus Bowl. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. and will also be broadcasted on ESPN. Below are several events leading up to March 8.
Soccer and the City (Tuesday, March 3)
It may not be fashion week, but there will be plenty of new trends and styles that will be showcased in the fourth annual Soccer and the City event on March 3rd, which will be held at the Church Street Exchange in downtown Orlando at 6 p.m.
The models of the evening will be the Orlando City roster, and proceeds to the event go to the Orlando City Foundation. But there’s more. Stick around and get an early sneak peak of Orlando City’s 2015 official away jersey.
Purple Pride 5K (Thursday, March 5)
“March to the match” is soccer lingo for going to the game. But on March 5th, how does run to the match sound like? If you’re interested in taking an evening to run 3.1 miles around downtown, then the Purple Pride 5K is it.
Register for the run, and you’ll get a game day ticket for Orlando City’s opening MLS game on March 8th.
Soccer Under the Stars (Friday, March 6)
Start the weekend off at an Orlando historic landmark, Lake Eola. Soccer Under the Stars is a great way to absorb the soccer culture in Orlando. The free event includes the joy of food trucks, popcorn and fun with the family.
Record Breaking Pub Brawl (Saturday March 7)
Who would of ever thought of coming to Orlando to break the Guinness World Record for a pub brawl, right?
On Saturday, March 7th, that feat could be easily accomplished in downtown Orlando. From Church Street to Wall Street Plaza, starting at 3:30 p.m., partake in this historic event with live concerts while setting a world record at the same time.
Orlando City vs. New York City FC (Sunday March 8)
It doesn’t get more historic than this, as project #FillTheBowl takes place when 65,000 purple fans pack the Citrus Bowl to watch Orlando City kickoff their first-ever MLS match against New York City FC.
